Camper Safety
Your Camper’s Safety Matters to Us
Skylark exists to give every child a hero who is following Jesus, the true Hero. Children are immensely valued and precious members of this family, and we take our responsibilities toward them very seriously. Due to the unique nature of summer camp, caretaking responsibilities are transferred from the camper’s family to the camp staff. Skylark takes these responsibilities incredibly seriously, and camper safety is our number one priority.
Skylark has zero tolerance for any form of child abuse. Skylark will take all reasonable measures to manage safety for your children in our care, take all reasonable measures to protect staff, and promptly respond to allegations of abuse and neglect.
Throughout every interview process, Skylark asks strategic questions to ensure the safety of every camper at Skylark. Along with asking these questions, every single candidate must pass a background check, share their work history, and submit personal and professional references. This process is required for all our staff, including summer staff and full-time staff. Our hope is that through these efforts, Skylark will gain a holistic picture of an individual before offering them a position.
Sex Offenders are prohibited from working at Skylark.
